Prof. Dr. Tsuneyuki Morita died of hepatic insufficiency on 4 September 2003 at the age of 53. His notable contribution to the field of climate change research won him respect both nationally and internationally. We shall always remember him, not only as a scientist but as a friend and for his humanity.
